Our Story

I “Galen” was born in an Amish community in eastern Kansas. I am the second in a family of 5 boys and 1 girl. I was 6 years old when my family left the old order Amish and moved to southern Iowa. Here we adapted to a bit more liberal lifestyle having electricity, indoor plumbing, a car, and a telephone.

At 5 years old my mother enrolled me in an English speaking school. I literally hated every minute of it. The English children were merciless to an Amish boy, knowing very little English, home-made clothes, bowl haircut, and packing a lunch box. At the age of 10 I committed my life to follow Christ, was baptized, went through catechism, and joined the church.

At the age of 15 my family moved to Paris Tx to be a part of new Mennonite community. I met my now wife Mary and we were married in 1981, I had just turned 18.

At age 18 I bought a small abandoned repair shop in Roxton, Tx. The building was dilapidated but with some minor repairs my first business was up and going. From those humble beginnings I went on to develop and manage several automotive machine shops.

In 2000 I sold out everything but our personal home and took my family on a 15 year venture of traveling 39 states playing music in jails, drug rehabs, churches and prisons. In 2015 we retired from the road and I built a facility that all mechanics would dream of.

Learn More About The Amish

Mary was born in Goshen, Indiana. into an old order Amish family, the second of 2 children. At a young age her family left the Old Oder Amish and joined the Mennonites. Over the years they moved to various Mennonite communities including DE, MD, SC, MO, and lastly in 1979 to Texas. Her father was one of the founding men to establish the Mennonite community that my family was later a part of. Mary was the first baptism held in this new-found Mennonite community. We married young, had 3 children in 3 years and and our lives are continuing to mold together after 37 years of marriage.

For 40 years, Mary has been practicing reflexology. Once we retired from full-time traveling, Mary’s business has blossomed into a full-time business. Mary is very busy accommodating grandchildren, her reflexology business, and being a stay at home wife.
